You know, I was surprised when I moved back home to Indiana last year that many Hoosiers still believe that studded snow tires are outlawed in Indiana.

It is absolutely NOT true that Studded tires are banned ... it's just another urban myth.

That is the only authoritative website in the world for Indiana Department of Transportation Driving Rules and Regulations.
If anybody tells you otherwise, then they don't know what they're talking about.
Studded tires are legal in Indiana from October 1 to April 31 - the last time I checked was the autumn of 2016.

And yes. The Indiana DOT is the over-riding governing body for all Indiana driving statutes and regulations.
